June = wedding! and changes!

Its finally June and that means I get MARRIED this month!! It is so crazy to think that in 11 short days I will be getting married to the amazing, funny, and wonderful Todd Keiser. I can't wait for that. It is going to be awesome to get to spend so much time with Todd especially after dating and being engaged long distance for the past 10 months! We can't wait to be together and we know we are going to have so much fun. After the wedding we are headed off to MEXICO for a week of sun and relaxation woohoo! We'll be living in New Jersey where Todd has a job working for the Navy.

I am excited for all of the new adventures that lie ahead of us but at the same time it is so crazy to go through so much change all at once. My friends, some of which I have had since 5th grade, are all going their separate ways, I just graduated college, I am getting married (which means figuring out how to live with a boy! haha) and moving to a completely new place.

Wow! Talk about a new season of life! I know that there will be many times in the coming months where I will be faced with a choice to either be sad and depressed about all the comforts of college that I am leaving behind or to embrace all that is new in front of me.  It will be a challenge and a process to choose the latter but I know that God will be my strength.

A Big Red comforting story: When Todd and I moved furniture into the apartment in New Jersey I made a trip to Target while Todd was at work. I felt a bit anxious because I know where absolutely nothing is in New Jersey and I rely completely on the guidance of my handy Garmin GPS. After missing a jug-handle turn (which New Jersey just loves to use) I found a second entrance to the Target parking lot. Upon entering the store, I let out a sigh of relief and was overcome with feelings of comfort. The Target in my new town in New Jersey, was laid out the EXACT same way as the Target in State College!! Now you may think this is something small an insignificant, but to me at the time it was the best thing in the world! In a place where everything is foreign and new, and where I feel out of place and somewhat disoriented, Big Red (Target) offers me a sense of belonging and home. I didn't have to roam the aisles aimlessly looking for the cleaning supplies or food, I knew right where to find all that I wanted. So, from that experience, I am learning just how comforting the little things in life can be. The layout of a Target store in small town New Jersey, made my day. Thank you Target for, not only hiring one of my best friends, but for being there for me when I needed it!

A verse that I am working to cling to through these crazy life changes:

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8

  2. Sach! Okay, I totally know what you mean because MY TARGET IS NOT THE SAME! There have been more than a few times I walk into the concession stand when I think I should be in the bathroom. However, it's not completely different. It's actually pretty similar with some improvements like nicer dresser rooms, nicer bathrooms and a food section.....BUT THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT. And don't even get me started on the Wal Mart here.....

  3. Sacha, I loved reading your blog today. You are right, you have so many changes ahead...all very exciting but some may be harder than others. I am so glad you can find a little slice of home in your new Target. I felt the same way when I moved with Griff to Philly. Just remember with all the changes that are about to come there is One who is UNCHANGING and He knows you and your needs better than you do. Trust in Him dear friend. Love you much and praying for these last few single days. :-) Sharon
